Kuria took to his Facebook page to inquire if anyone had seen a condolence message from Moi to Matiba's family.

"I have been quite busy lately. Is it possible I missed a tribute to Kenneth Matiba from the Senator of Baringo? Anyone with a copy?" Kuria asked, sarcastically, in a Facebook post seen by TUKO.co.ke on Monday, April 23.
Matiba, who was reportedly very close friends with the Moi's family in the 1960s and 1970s before a bitter fall out, passed on on Sunday, April 15, at Karen Hospital, Nairobi, after ailing for years.
He was 85 at the time of his death.
President Uhuru Kenyatta, Opposition leader Raila Odinga, Deputy President William Ruto, and several other high profile leaders have paid tribute to the fallen second liberation icon.
The late veteran politician will be remembered for his painful struggles, including detention without trial and torture, and spirited fight for multi-party democracy that Kenyans enjoy today.
Besides his detention and torture by the Moi government, Matiba also lost his business empire, which The Evening Post understands he built prior to his acrimonious fall-out with Moi in the 1990s .
Years later, he was awarded KSh 950 million by court for the illegal dentition and the business losses he suffered during Moi's era.
Unfortunately, Matiba died before he could receive the court compensations, which according to his lawyer, had accrued to over a billion shillings including interest.
A few leaders, including ODM party Secretary General Edwin Sifuna, have called on President Uhuru's government to pay Matiba's family his compensation before his final send- off on Friday, April 27.
