Embakasi East MP Babu Owino has sent out a strong message to Miguna Miguna after Governor Mike Sonko nominated the fiery lawyer to become Nairobi's Deputy Governor.
Owino sent out a congratulatory message to the self proclaimed NRM General and advised him to desist from his attacks on social media and instead serve the people of Nairobi.
"Congratulations Janyando. Miguna Miguna should now stop his social media onslaught on everybody and serve Nairobians," Owino tweeted.
The Embakasi East legislator's message came a few hours after Miguna broke his silence over Sonko's nomination and denied having communicated with the governor.
"Mr. MikeSonko and I have not spoken, met or communicated since our gubernatorial debate in July 2017. I will not comment on malicious information, material or cheap propaganda circulating in the social media. Thank you."
The Jubilee Party had earlier ordered Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko to immediately withdraw the nomination of Miguna as the city's Deputy Governor.
The ruling party, through National Assembly Leader Aden Duale, stated that it was not in support of Sonko's decision.
According to Duale, Miguna did not meet the legal requirements to be nominated for the Deputy Governor's position.
"One, he is not a member of the Jubilee Party. Two, we have told Sonko that the only time he can take a name to that Assembly (County) is after consulting with the party leader - the President," Duale told Pulselive.co.ke in a telephone interview.
He added that the Jubilee Party did not consider Miguna a Kenyan and could not therefore quality to become governor.
"He is not the choice of Jubilee by his character, we cannot even allow him to join our party. Even his citizenship is in question. How do you become a Deputy Governor if you are not a Kenyan?" Duale stated
