Kenyans who run small and medium retail businesses are expected to get major benefits after a new partnership bringing together Mastercard, Unilever, and KCB was launched.
The partnership, dubbed Jaza Duka, seeks to provide shop owners the convenience of flexible payments when sourcing Unilever stock.
Unilever produces popular products among them Blueband, Royco, Homecup Tea, Omo, Geisha, Lux, Sunlight, Vaseline, Lady gay, Fair & Lovely, and Close up.
Through Jaza Duka, retailers can access any of these products without making any instant payments.
As a retailer, you can order for fast-moving goods from your Unilever distributor and make the payment after the stock has cleared.
Small and medium retailers often get the challenge of topping up their stock and expand their business, however, this initiative will get you 17 days of interest free credit to buy more products from Unilever.
Further, if you show KCB that you can repay regularly they can increase your credit limit with Jaza Duka.
“With Unilever, we can bring a unique combination of technology and know-how to help these shop owners build a better future and serve their customers who are themselves on a path towards financial inclusion,” Ajay Banga, president and CEO, Mastercard said of the new initiative.
If you are a small or medium retailer who deals with Unilever products, signing up for Jaza Duka is very simple.
First, you will need to register your interest with your Unilever distributor. They will ask you to complete a request for information form. You will only need to provide your telephone number and National ID.
You can then proceed to enjoy the numerous benefits provided to Jaza Duka customers.
