20 people have been confirmed dead by a team leading a rescue operation in Nakuru based Patel Solai Dam tragedy after the dam burst its banks on Wednesday night.
Rongai police boss Japheth Kioko on Thursday said 20 bodies had been recovered, with search and rescue operation ongoing.
Already Interior and National Government Coordination CS Dr Fred Matiang’i and police boss Joseph Boinnet are at the scene to oversee the rescue operations, which the Red Cross has hinted that could lead to more losses of lives.
Visited two villages in Solai, Subukia that were swept away after a dam burst its bank.
