Uhuru Kenyatta has claimed Raila's performance during the debate which he
(Uhuru) skipped was pathetic

Speaking at a campaing in Nyeri, Uhuru said that Raila had no clear agenda and
thus no point in debating him
– In
separate rallies, Uhuru has said he does not need to attend debates to speak to
Kenyans as his record speaks for itself
– The
president skipped Monday, July 24 mouthwatering clash between him and Raila
Odinga
– The
opposition has since claimed that it tricked Uhuru into skipping the debate and
he walked into their trap
After missing the presidential debate which happened on 24,
July, 2017 President Uhuru has termed it as a fail.
Addressing at a rally during his campaign he claimed that NASA
presidential candidate Raila did a below average job during the debate.He also
added that he didn't see the need of debating with an individual who lacks an
agenda for Kenyans.
“He
changes his script when he is being watched by Kenyans but during his
campaigns, he divides communities. No wonder I could not debate him. I did not
go because it was a waste of time and I had nothing to debate with Raila,” said
Uhuru as quoted in the Daily Nation.
After snubbing the much hyped Presidential Debate, a move which
angered many Kenyans, President Uhuru Kenyatta has laid down a plan to redeem
his name. In an attempt to satiate his followers, Uhuru now plans
"The President, who has also already given interviews to
14 radio stations, is due to speak to at least 40 more, directly reaching
Kenyans on his Action Plan for Kenya’s future. He will also engage with Kenya’s
youth through platforms they are familiar with,” said Spokesman
Manoah Esipisu. to hold dozens of radio interviews 13 days to the General
election.
President Uhuru
Kenyatta might have been in a meeting with Samburu leaders during the
presidential debate. According to a post seen on his Facebook page seen by
TUKO.co.ke, the president met the leaders and shared the post while the debate
was ongoing.
"I have been in
government for slightly over four years now and our track record speaks for
itself. There was no way I was going to debate someone who does not know where
we are coming from and where we are headed. I didn't have time for exchanges
with such a person." Uhuru
said
